PRIVATE & SEMI-PRIVATE SESSIONS

STUDIO ETIQUETTES
• Cell Phone Ringer on “OFF” setting when INSIDE studio. Use of Cell Phone is discouraged during session.
• Footwear is discouraged when INSIDE studio. Non-Slippery socks are recommended during session
• Exercise clothes without Zippers and Buttons (tops & bottoms) are appreciated to maintain equipment quality
• Hair Clips & Pins are discouraged for consideration of equipment quality
• Hand & Body Lotions are discouraged before session for safety consideration
• Perfumes, Colognes & Highly Scented Products are discouraged when INSIDE studio for consideration of allergy sensitive clients
• Gum and Food chewing during session is discouraged for safety consideration. Water in covered bottle is appreciated.

STOTT PILATES® METHOD
Whether the session is performed on a mat or on equipment, Pilates South Texas studio incorporates the STOTT PILATES® method instruction.

STOTT PILATES® is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates.
Co-founders Lindsay and Moira Merrithew, along with a team of physical therapists/physiotherapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals, have spent over two decades refining the STOTT PILATES® method of exercise and equipment.

STOTT PILATES® incorporates modern exercise principles, and applies proven and accepted practices in biomechanics, rehabilitation and athletic performance enhancement. After realizing the benefits of the concepts of the original Pilates method, and in collaboration with a team of physical therapists/physiotherapists, sports medicine and exercise professionals, the Merrithews dissected and re-connected this unique form of exercise into a comprehensive, systematic, contemporary approach to the original teachings.

STOTT PILATES® exercises are designed to restore the natural curves of the spine and rebalance the muscles around the joints. This involves placing more emphasis on pelvic and scapular stabilization, and integration of all the parts of the body into one. As well, preparatory exercises and modifications allow the technique to be appropriate for many different body types and abilities, making it applicable to sport-specific training and everyday life.

** STOTT PILATES® Session for Fitness consists of 1-on-1 training with one of our STOTT PILATES® Instructors. The Private Sessions are encouraged for the clients who are new to Pilates and for the clients who desire the personalized attention and/or require the specialized programming to achieve optimal quality of movement and functional fitness performance. Clients of any age or fitness level from post-rehabilitation patients to elite athletes will benefit from these Private Sessions. Specialized equipment including the V2 Max Plus Reformer, Cadillac, Stability Chair, Ladder Barrels, Spine Corrector, Arc Barrel and a variety of other small apparatuses are utilized. In order to optimize a client’s results and to ensure excellence in training while maintaining safety, we require new clients to complete a series of Private Sessions prior to joining semi-private sessions or group sessions.

** STOTT PILATES® Session for Post Rehabilitation consists of 1-on-1 training with one of our STOTT PILATES® Instructors whom are knowledgeable and experienced in designing post-rehabilitation programs for injury recovery. Post Rehabilitation Pilates sessions are a highly specialized means of rehabilitation for the client who has an injury, chronic pain or severe issues that require special attention. Designed to optimize your quality of movement, the sessions focus on re-educating and activating the deep local stabilizers of the spine to control and re-establish a correct movement pattern of the lumbar-pelvic region. A series of Pilates post rehabilitation sessions at our well-equipped studio will teach the client how to recruit the deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles, and train them to sustain this connection to allow stabilization and strength for correct musculoskeletal movement patterns.

SEMI-PRIVATE SESSIONS

** STOTT PILATES® Semi-Private Sessions consist of two (2) clients per one of our STOTT PILATES® Instructors. This ensures that our clients are receiving a safe and productive workout with personal feedback and exercise correction. Specialized equipment including the V2 Max PlusTM Reformer, Cadillac, Stability Chair, Ladder Barrels, Spine Corrector, Arc Barrel and a variety of other small apparatuses are utilized. We recommend Semi-Private clients to commit to two sessions per week to help maintain the highest quality of training for all participants.

GROUP FLOOR WORK SESSIONS

Group Training ** registration is approved upon completion of “PST Orientation” package

This is an economical way to gain the benefits of the STOTT PILATES® training and workout with friends!
The modifications and variations for each exercise are provided to make group session safe and effective workout for everyone from clients of any age or fitness level from post-rehabilitation patients to elite athletes.
Each Session is 55 minutes duration. The Class capacity – 12 Participants.

** STOTT PILATES® Mat
STOTT PILATES® is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates.
The STOTT PILATES® Five Basic Principles form the foundation of the method which all our STOTT PILATES® sessions are programmed. The awareness and application of the biomechanical principles will ensure one to receive maximum benefits from practicing STOTT PILATES® exercises.
Each STOTT PILATES® Mat session will take one through a dynamic, full-body workout designed to sculpt and tone abs, buns, thighs, legs and arms with the use of different STOTT PILATES® small equipment.

** ZEN•GA Mat
ZEN• GA is a synergistic blend of mind-body modalities, supported by exercise science and the newest findings in fascial fitness. ZEN represents the search for inner discovery, while YOGA symbolizes a pathway to reach it. Together they form ZEN•GA, which is based on Four Mindful Movement Principles: breath, support, yield and flow. When applied together, these principles bring awareness of how the body and the mind move in tandem.
The ZEN• GA Mat session utilizes STOTT PILATES® small props to assist with body placement for each yoga pose that incorporates the four ZEN• GA™ principles.

** Total Barre
Sculpt lean and toned muscles with this energizing and dynamic group class designed to challenge and change your body.
Total Barre efficiently blends Pilates with dance, cardio and strength-training specifically challenging arms, legs and core to strengthen and lengthen the body. Powered by energizing, heart-pumping music that makes your need to move, this class uses choreographed movement patterns with the support of a ballet barre to take you through a flow of high-powered sequences that will keep you energized and motivated.

** TRX® Suspension Training®

** MELT Method®
MELT Method® is a self-treatment approach that simulates the results of manual therapy. The class provides simple guided self-treatments to erase pain and tension in your hands, feet, neck and low back brought on by everyday stress, overuse and aging. Utilization of MELT®small props, including:

  • MELT Method® Soft Roller
  • MELT Method® Small Hand & Foot Balls

Completion of the MELT Method® Introduction Workshop is encouraged prior to joining Group MELT®classes to continue the practice, improve and learn new MELT® techniques that you can also practice at home.

GROUP SINGLE EQUIPMENT SESSIONS

** STOTT PILATES® Equipment
Utilization of STOTT PILATES® equipment (Reformer equipment, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, V2 Max Plus Reformer and different accessory boards) during the session. The equipment variations will allow one the opportunity to focus on body awareness, while building strength and mobility for optimal fitness and well-being.

** ZEN•GA Equipment
ZEN• GA is a unique synergistic blend of mindful movement modalities such as: yoga, pilates, mediation and dance. The ZEN• GA™ Equipment session is practiced on a STOTT PILATES® V2 Max Plus Reformer.
Exploration of yoga poses on the equipment and the practice of four ZEN• GA™ mindful movement principles will heighten mind awareness, enhance elasticity of one’s body and create a youthful, resilient fluid body.

GROUP MULTIPLE EQUIPMENT SESSIONS

** PST (Principles & Symmetry Training): Introductory Performance Session
The STOTT PILATES® Basic Principles and exercise repertoires are introduced & practiced with the utilization of the STOTT PILATES® equipment (Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, V2 Max Plus Reformer and different accessory boards).
The class is a moderate pace to promote body awareness, proper movement patterns and body alignment. Additionally, a lean, sculpted and toned physique is achieved with the focus on muscular symmetry training.

GROUP KINETIC CHAIN TRAINING SESSIONS

** KINETIC CHAIN TRAINING: Advanced Performance Session
The workout is designed to increase focus, body awareness, isolate crucial core muscles and combine the elements of strength with flexibility to improve athletic performance for all sports. The precision of instruction will allow one to optimize the benefit of the session in order to improve performance for all activities of choice.
The session incorporates all STOTT PILATES® equipment and small props. Instructor approval to attend the session is required. The Class capacity – 6 Participants.

GYROTONIC® METHOD

Pilates South Texas studio offers the GYROTONIC® method instruction.
The GYROTONIC® method is highly adaptable, making them accessible to everyone, regardless of age or physical ability.

The GYROTONIC® method is complementary exercise method that falls under one umbrella- the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®. The method was developed by Juliu Horvath, an ethnic Hungarian, professional dancer from Romania. Horvath suffered a series of debilitating injuries during his dance career, and began developing what are now known as the  GYROTONIC® Method as a way to heal himself and regain his strength and agility.

GYROTONIC® exercises are performed on custom-designed GYROTONIC® equipment. GYROTONIC® exercise sequences are composed of spiraling, circular movements, which flow together seamlessly in rhythmic repetitions, with corresponding breath. Each movement flows into the next, allowing the joints to move through a natural range of motion without jarring or compression. These carefully crafted sequences create balance, efficiency, strength and flexibility.

The system consists of guided exercises on equipment developed by Horvath that when done regularly can offer the body immense benefits which include:
